After performing a number of shows together throughout 2018 for the first time in over 35 years, Punky Meadows and Frank DiMino from the legendary '70s rock band ANGEL have decided to resurrect the group under the banner ANGEL FEATURING PUNKY MEADOWS AND FRANK DIMINO. Read More....

There's no doubt he has the X factor: the looks, the stance, the clothes...

Another blast from the past was Punky Meadows and Frank Dimino playing 'Angel'. Punky looked amazing, tall and lean in white boot cut flares and a white sequined jacket with black wings on the back, the epitome of noble elegance and grace. While his playing was in some ways understated, it was also regal and suited to the pomp of high Glam Rock like Queen. There's no doubt he has the X factor: the looks, the stance, the clothes. It was quite something to take in. Frank's voice was absolutely spot on and neither of them look their age. The reception from the crowd was warm as they seemed in awe at the chance to see the band they thought they would never see....read more

Now when you’re an out and out obsessed rock and roll junkie like I am, it is hard not to get antsy waiting to see a band and when that band is a band playing songs you have been waiting like 40 years to hear in concert and actually thought you would never hear in concert, it’s normal to get jumpy legs, goose bumps, etc. Oh yeah! I was almost like a teenage girl in the ’70s at a Shaun Cassidy concert.

The Whisky was packed with diehard fans as the band opened the show with "On the Rocks" from the "On Earth As It In Heaven" album. The band did a great job of representing material from all five ANGEL albums....Let's just say it was definitely well worth the wait... Read More

One of the most memorable rock bands that took to the stage back in the late 1970’s was a band called Angel. Their sound and image were unmatched and really left a mark in music history. The original band disbanded in 1981 so when any members reunite, its a big deal.. ..Read More

LA Weekly votes Punky Meadows one of the top 10 shows of 2017

The former Angel guitarist has assembled a band that's eminently capable of doing justice to the classic tracks from the 1970s Angel albums. There might be a few more lines on Meadows’ face nowadays, but his demeanor is still youthful and, at the Whisky back in March, he lit up the place.

Punky Meadows commands the stage at ROCK CARNIVAL

Back on the WDHA stage, it was time for Punky Meadows to begin around 3:50 PM. After a long hiatus the former Angel member has come out of retirement, releasing a new solo album in May of this year, entitled Fallen Angel. Backed by Danny Farrow (rhythm guitar), Keith Roth (bass), Chandler Mogel (vocals), Bob Pantella (drums), and Charlie Calv (keyboard), the Glam Metal star rocked out a set that featured tracks off of the new album along with some of Angel’s fan-favorites including “Wild & Hot,” “Can You Feel It,” and “Tower.” A master of his craft, Meadows fully commanded the stage with guitar solos galore from start to finish. Reemerging to many’s surprise, if this is a sign of things to come, expect big things from the rejuvenated Punky Meadows and his band.

"Trust me - it is a night you will never forget!"

Martin Popoff (BraveWords) interviews Punky Meadows

Hard to believe, but essentially, once legendary progressive hard rockers Angel put themselves asleep in 1980, we never heard much from any of the guys again (save for Gregg Guiffria), and that includes guitarist Punky Meadows, famed for being name-checked in a Frank Zappa bit due to his beyond pretty boy looks.

“I was done with the music business; I washed my hands of it,” explains Punky. “I started my own business and I was very successful, happy and the whole thing. And I just didn’t want anything to do with music anymore. Once I left LA... I mean, I love music, but I hate the music business, you know what I mean?”

But now he’s back with his first solo album, 36 years in the baking and making, called Fallen Angel, amusingly, just as his lead vocalist cohort in Angel Frank DiMino, has launched a solid record of his own under the DiMino brand.

Watch Punky Meadows’ ‘Straight Shooter’ Video: Exclusive Premiere

Fans of ‘70s cult favorites Angel will be happy to hear that former guitarist Punky Meadows is releasing his first new music in 35 years this week in the form of Fallen Angel, his debut solo release.

We are pleased to present the exclusive video premiere of “Straight Shooter,” one of 15 new Fallen Angels tracks that Meadows wrote with close friend Danny Farrow Aniello. The album also reunites him with former Angel bandmate Felix Robinson, who plays bass.

“This new video was so much fun to make and we all had a killer time working on it,” Meadows says. “You’ll find yourself singing along and doing your best air guitar solo. Rock on and keep the smokin’ guitar fires burning!”

The physical edition of Fallen Angel includes a 16-page booklet with photos of Meadows from across the years, many of which have never been seen before. There is also an autographed special edition, with a collector’s guitar pick and two additional songs, including one with vocals from another of Meadows’ former Angel bandmates, vocalist Frank DiMino.

Meadows will hit the stage on June 14 at B.B. King’s in New York City for a special concert to celebrate the release of Fallen Angel, and plans to hopefully play additional shows in the near future.

Legendary ANGEL Guitarist PUNKY MEADOWS: More 'Fallen Angel' Solo Album Details Revealed

Seminal guitarist Punky Meadows (ex-ANGEL) is set to release his first-ever solo album, "Fallen Angel", on May 20 via Main Man Records. The offering will be the first new music from the guitarist in years and features the soaring guitars and arena-sized rock sounds for which Meadows and ANGEL came to be known.

Meadows commented: "It feels great to be back and I can't wait for all my fans to hear my new album. It's badass, rocks and every song will have you rockin' and singing along. This album is diversified and has something for everyone while still keeping true to form. Everyone who played on this record had amazing performances and made this album killer! We run the streets! This is the album you will be playing in your house, in your car, when you work out and anywhere else your ears will take you. Long live rock n' roll!"

"Fallen Angel" will be available in two formats. The standard CD will include a 16-page booklet which features previously unreleased images of Punky Meadows throughout the years. A very special limited edition will also be available which is autographed by Punky and includes two bonus tracks, one with ANGEL lead singer Frank Dimino, as well as an exclusive Meadows guitar pick. Both formats are available for sale at MainManRecords.com.

Punky Meadows is best known as lead guitarist of the '70s band ANGEL (Casablanca Records). ANGEL, like labelmates KISS, were a highly successful theatrical band that headlined throughout the world, but was particularly successful in Japan. Punky was a huge influence to many musicians for not only his great feel, tone and unique style of guitar playing, but also his image that many have tried to emulate over the years. ANGEL released six albums on Casablanca before disbanding in 1981 due to the demise of the label. During his career, Punky had been sought after and asked to join such bands as KISS, AEROSMITH, NEW YORK DOLLS and Michael Bolton. Upon the disbanding of ANGEL, he occupied himself with successful business ventures while continuing to play guitar and write songs.

Through social media, fans have let him know that they want to hear from him and with his newfound passion in music and inspiration from close friend Danny Farrow Anniello, together they have written 15 new songs for "Fallen Angel".

In addition to Punky and Farrow, the band includes Felix Robinson (bass), Chandler Mogel (lead vocals), Bob Pantella (drums) and Charlie Cav (keyboards). Felix and Punky last worked together in ANGEL.

Legendary ANGEL Guitarist PUNKY MEADOWS To Release 'Fallen Angel' Solo Album In May

Best known from the '70s rock band ANGEL, Punky Meadows will release his debut solo album, "Fallen Angel", on May 20 via Main Man Records. The effort is described in a press release as "a very diverse rock album with 15 very catchy songs that [Punky] co-wrote with close friend, and rhythm guitarist for his new band, Danny Farrow. The group is rounded out by Felix Robinson on bass, as well as Chandler Mogel on lead vocals, Bob Pantella on drums, and Charlie Calv on keyboards.

Punky has not released any music in the 35 years since the breakup of ANGEL in 1980 and says he has found a new passion and is really excited about the new project.

Two different versions of "Fallen Angel" are available for preorder now. The first 200 orders will be signed by the whole band. The special edition will also include two bonus tracks and a 16-page booklet with many never-before-seen photos of Punky Meadows throughout the years. You will also get a Punky Meadows guitar pick.

Punky and his band will play their first show on June 14 at BB King Blues Club & Grill in New York City.
